Investing limits explained

## How Much Can I Invest on Wefunder? The amount you can invest on Wefunder depends on whether you're an accredited investor or not. Let's break down how it works so you know exactly what you can invest. ### Accredited Investors – No Limits If you qualify as an accredited investor, great news: you can invest without any limits when participating in Regulation Crowdfunding (Reg CF) offerings on Wefunder. But here's the important part: you need to self-certify that you're accredited. This means telling us you meet the requirements. Since these certifications can be randomly audited, it's crucial that you're 100% honest about your financial status. If you provide false information, your account can be suspended. ### Non-Accredited Investors – There's a Limit If you're not an accredited investor (includes most people), you can still invest, but there are limits based on your income and net worth. These limits apply over any 12-month period across all Reg CF deals you participate in. Here's the formula: You can invest the **greater of**: - **$2,500**, OR - **A percentage of your income or net worth** (whichever is higher): - If your annual income or net worth is less than $124,000: you can invest up to **5%** of the higher amount - If both your annual income AND net worth are $124,000 or more: you can invest up to **10%** of the higher amount, but not more than **$124,000** total **Example:** Let's say you earn $80,000 per year and have a net worth of $150,000. Your net worth is higher, so we use that. 10% of $150,000 = $15,000. That's your limit. ### Important Reminders **Your limits are cumulative.** If you invest $5,000 in one Wefunder deal, you only have $10,000 left for other Reg CF investments (including on other platforms) within that 12-month period. **Tell us about other investments.** If you invest in Reg CF deals on other crowdfunding platforms, you need to disclose those on Wefunder. This helps us track your limits accurately. **Keep your info updated.** You can change your income and net worth information anytime in your Investor Limits settings. Just make sure what you provide is accurate. **What happens if you don't?** Providing false information can result in your investments being canceled and your account being frozen. We know that sounds serious, but it's to protect everyone.
