Why your round isn't on the Explore page
## The $50k requirement
To show up on Wefunder's Explore page, you need to hit $50,000 in commitments. This includes testing-the-waters reservations or actual investments made on Wefunder. The full $50k has to come from Wefunder. Money raised outside the platform doesn't count toward this number, even if it's on the same terms.
## Where does the $50k need to come from?
The required $50,000 must be raised from your own community — including family, friends, and personal or professional connections.
There's a limit on how much can come from your team. For team members (including board members), no more than 20% of the $50,000 threshold (up to $10,000) may be credited from your teammates' combined fundraising efforts. Team members are welcome to raise and invest more than $10,000 in total, but only the first $10,000 of their combined contributions counts toward your $50,000 requirement.
## Why $50k?
Think about it from an investor's perspective. You're browsing Wefunder's Explore page looking for campaigns to invest in, and you find one that looks cool. But it shows $0 raised. What does that tell you? It probably feels extra risky.
The $50k threshold creates a baseline of credibility. It shows that other people have already decided to back you, which makes new investors feel more confident.
It also needs to be all on-platform because we want to treat every company fairly. All companies on Wefunder follow the same rules — no shortcuts based on off-platform raises.
## $50k is the biggest requirement, but it isn't the only one
Reaching $50,000 is usually what's standing between a campaign and Explore, but it is not the whole checklist. To be listed you also need:
- **Your privacy set to Public** (Settings → Privacy)
- **Your profile published**
- **Your round in a publicly visible state** — while you're only accepting reservations, it stays off Explore
- **Your Explore card approved by Wefunder**
- **Your compliance review passed**
So if you've hit $50k and still aren't on Explore, one of those is the reason — most often the Explore card approval or the compliance review. Both are on Wefunder's side, and neither is instant.
## How to get there
Go get your first $50k in commitments on Wefunder. Once you hit that number your campaign goes into compliance review, and once that and your Explore card approval clear, you'll appear on Explore.
You can elect to go live in the "All Raises" section and other relevant carousels. Once you're there, you'll start getting organic traffic from investors browsing the platform.
One last thing: the Explore listing refreshes on a schedule rather than instantly, so give it a day after everything clears. If it's been longer than that, tell us your company name and we'll check which step is holding it up.
