If your raise fails
Unfortunately, if your raise fails, you won't be able to run a new one on Wefunder unless you can demonstrate that you've reached a significant milestone. This could be customer growth, the addition of new distribution channels, the addition of new products, or more.
## Failing vs. canceling — they're different
"Failing" means your raise didn't hit your goal by the deadline. "Canceling" means you decided to stop the raise yourself, either because plans changed or you no longer want to proceed.
The two have different consequences:
- **A failed raise** triggers the lockout described above — you can't run another Wefunder raise without showing a meaningful milestone since.
- **A canceled raise** (deliberate cancellation by the founder) does not. We've had founders cancel and come back to raise successfully later.
