Who qualifies to be a Lead Investor
## Lead Investor qualification criteria
### If your Reg CF campaign began before February 19, 2026:
- They invest at least $5,000 in your company on the same terms as other Wefunder investors.
- They are not an officer, employee, or family member and do not have a conflict of interest.
- They are willing to provide a quote (text or video) to Wefunder investors about why they have agreed to be the Lead Investor.
Note that the investor does not need to be accredited to serve as the Lead Investor.
### If your Reg CF campaign began on or after February 19, 2026:
- There is no minimum investment requirement. They could also be an investor from a past raise on different terms.
- They can be a related party. An officer or employee can qualify. A founder is also eligible to be the "lead investor."
- They can be an unaffiliated person who has not invested.
