Why can't people find my company page?

## There are four different places your page can appear Founders usually say "nobody can find my page," but there are four separate things happening, each with its own rules. Being in one does not put you in the others. ### 1. Findable by name in Wefunder's search Three things have to be true: - **Your privacy is set to Public**, *or* your Form C is live. (Settings → Privacy → Public. Invite-Only and Unlisted both keep you out of search results.) - **Your profile is published**, and - **Your company has earned its way into the index** — which happens once any one of these is true: your Form C is filed, you have at least two investors, your Explore card is approved, or you're on a full-service plan. That last condition is the one almost nobody expects: **a brand-new page is not findable by name on its own, even if you set it to Public.** It's an anti-spam rule, not a setting, and there's no switch that skips it. If you've just created your page and filed nothing yet, that's usually the reason. ### 2. A card on the Explore page Explore is a much higher bar than being findable by name. It needs **all** of: - your privacy set to **Public** - at least **$50,000** raised - your profile published - your round in a publicly visible state — while you're only accepting reservations (testing the waters), it stays off Explore - your **Explore card approved by Wefunder** - your compliance review passed Setting your privacy to Public is necessary but **not sufficient**. The Privacy page describes Public as making your profile appear on the Explore page, but the rest of that list still has to be true — most often it's the $50,000 or the Explore card approval that's actually outstanding. It's completely normal to be Public and findable by name, and still not on Explore. (Common stock rounds are also subject to promotion restrictions on Explore.) ### 3. Listed on investors' public profiles For your company to appear in an investor's public list of investments, your profile must be published, not invite-only, not pending review — and you need at least one investor whose own Wefunder account is established (verified bank account, active card, or a completed investment). ### 4. Google and other search engines Your page is only allowed into Google when it's published, not invite-only, and has at least one established investor. Even then, Google has to come and crawl it, which can take days or weeks. So "allowed into Google" and "in Google" are not the same day. ## The two things founders most often get wrong **"Public" does two different jobs, and only one of them is quick.** Choosing Public in Settings → Privacy is what lets you turn up in search results — that part is on you and takes effect once the index refreshes. Getting an Explore card is a separate, higher bar that Public alone does not clear. **Filing your Form C changes things automatically.** For an active Reg CF raise, filing sets your privacy to Public and lifts invite-only, because FINRA requires a filed Reg CF raise to be publicly discoverable. You don't need to do anything for that part. ## If everything looks right and you're still not there Wefunder's search index rebuilds on a schedule — roughly every two hours, and the Explore pass runs once a day. A change won't appear the instant you make it. If it's been longer than that and you still can't find your page, tell us your company name and we'll look at exactly which step is holding it up.
