Extending your round deadline
# Extending your round deadline
Closing your round on time is great! But sometimes you need more time to hit your goal or get additional investor commitments over the line.
The good news? You may be able to extend your close date.
## How much time do you have?
It depends on your close date. Technically, you have up to **120 days after the end of your fiscal year** to close your round. For companies with a December 31st fiscal year end, that means April 30th is your absolute deadline without needing new financials.
**What if you're scheduled to close sooner?** You can still ask us to extend your round to either another date, April 30th, or beyond.
**What if you want to extend beyond that 120-day mark?** You'll need to prepare and disclose new financials with your Account Management team. This is a more involved process, so plan ahead.
## The one-week request
**Here's what you need to know:** Please try to request your extension at least 1 week before your current close date.
We'll send you reminders as your close date gets closer. These reminders will let you know how much time you have left and give you a chance to decide if you want to extend. When you see those reminders and decide you want more time, reach out to your Wefunder contact right away - don't wait.
## What happens when you extend?
When you request an extension and we approve it:
- Your new close date is set (within the 120-day window, or with new financials if extending beyond)
- Investors are notified of the new timeline
- You get more time to reach your goal or bring in more investors
- Everything else stays the same - your terms, your minimum, your pitch
## How do I request an extension?
Reach out to your Wefunder contact directly or email closing@wefunder.com to let us know. Try to include your current close date, and share your requested new close date.
Assuming we receive enough notice, we can then extend your round and confirm your new timeline.
## Common questions
**Can I extend more than once?** Yes, just follow the one-week notice rule each time.
**What if I extend but then want to close early?** You can always close before your extended deadline. Just give us a heads-up.
**What happens to investors if I extend?** They'll be notified of the new close date and given the updated timeline. It doesn't change their investment. Just gives everyone more time.
